FAQs
Q. I think I want to quit but am so afraid I'm not motivated enough. How do you know whether you are motivated enough?
In fact, every smoker has the motivation to quit. The problem is that there is something in the way of the motivation. And that's because of the fear. The fear that life will be less complete without cigarettes, that social occasions will always be less fun, that you'll always feel something is missing, that you'll be less able to deal with stressful and difficult situations, that you'll be less able to concentrate, that you're bound to fail, that the first few weeks will be torturous.
Although understandable, these fears can be removed completely. After the session you will feel less anxious and have no desire to smoke anymore.
All that you need is an open mind and in no time at all you'll be a happy non-smoker.
Q. I am a strong-willed person in all other areas of my life but when it comes to giving up smoking, I am useless. Why?
That's because smoking is not a habit but an addiction. Many smokers think that smoking is largely to do with the habit. You can change a habit easily through willpower, especially if there are good reasons for doing so. But if you understand how addiction works, you suddenly see that all your previous attempts to stop by using your willpower have been doomed to fail.
Q. Why should I come to a clinic?
There is a money back guarantee
The result is immediate for you. You quit there and then with the certainty you have all the tools to ensure that you never have any desire to smoke ever again.
You may ask questions as they arise, to which you will get a straight, live answer from someone who was in the same position as yourself.
You will be given a strategy to help you break down and remove fears and doubts which in the past sucked you back into the temptation of smoking.
You can take advantage of two free booster sessions and telephone support. Only a minority of clients ever need this, but it is there as a safety net for you.
Q. What happens at the session?
A fully trained therapist conducts the session with a group of 10 to 20 attendees in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.
There are regular smoking breaks during the session.
Don’t worry! You won’t have to stand up and talk about yourself!
At the end, you smoke your last cigarette and leave the session as a non-smoker!
Q. Do you use hypnotherapy?
At the end of the session there is about 20 minutes of hypnotherapy. This is not deep hypnosis, just a pleasant relaxing experience that reinforces the main points of the session and conveys positive thoughts about being a non-smoker.
Q. What if I've read the book already?
The sessions are often attended by people who have read Allen Carr's book previously (although it is by no means a prerequisite). Some may have had short-term success, some may not have stopped at all, but they usually feel there is something about the method which might be able to help them. Sometimes things don't gel or important points can be missed or remain unclear. The clinic sessions are, of course, based on the same method (and so certain points may be familiar to someone who has read the book previously) but they are especially designed to deliver the method in a deeper, more personal and interactive manner. You are welcome to talk about your previous experiences and ask questions about the book.
Q.I tried reading Allen Carr's book but reading really isn't for me.Will I get the same results from just one seminar?
The clinic is the most effective means of delivering Allen Carr's Easyway method. It is live, instant, interactive and visual, plus you have the opportunity to question and challenge any point.
We think you will enjoy our seminars more than trying to force yourself to read and our dedicated therapists will be there to support you all the way.
If reading isn't for you then our seminars are the perfect solution.
Q. I have read the book and I stopped easily. Yet at some point I started smoking again. I've read the book again, but now it doesn't seem to have the same effect. Is it worth coming?
Many people will only need to read the book to stop smoking permanently, others however will need the seminar as well. The seminar will always be the most powerful means of delivering the Allen Carr's Easyway message. When reading a book there is no way of knowing whether or not the message has been fully understood. During the seminar a skilled professional is there to check that you understand each step of the process. You can ask questions and you will get a straight answer from a person that has stopped smoking with the method. A demonstation of how confident we are that the seminar will work for you is that we're happy to provide our money back guarantee whether you've read the book or not.
Q. What if I am a chainsmoker (or social smoker)?
Allen Carr’s Easyway will work for any smoker: heavy, light, old or young.
All you need is an open mind and your common sense.
Q. I'm under a lot of stress at the moment, should I wait?
There is no bad time to do an Allen Carr's Easyway Seminar - the sooner the better! One of the main illusions we have about smoking is that it relieves stress. During the seminar we will remove this illusion and prove to you that smoking, far from relieving stress, actually causes stress. Afterwards you will immediately be better able to cope with stressful situations.
Q. Can I still socialise / enjoy life when I stop?
Of course you can! Remember you are not going to stop living; you will be freeing yourself from an addiction that has controlled you since you first started smoking. Non-smokers enjoy meals, drinks, holidays and social occasions and so will you. You have just forgotten what it’s like to be a non-smoker.
Smokers who quit with the Allen Carr's Easyway method leave the session as happy non-smokers, not feeling deprived but with a huge sense of relief and elation that they have finally achieved what they always wanted . . . TO BE FREE!!
Q. Will I put weight on when I stop?
This is one of the biggest fears smokers have about quitting because many people using willpower to stop smoking do put on weight. This is because they feel like they have sacrificed a pleasure when they give up cigarettes. This feeling of deprivation leads them to look for an alternative “treat” or “reward” to take its place. All too often food becomes the substitute. People stopping with Allen Carr’s Easyway do not feel like they have sacrificed anything. When you feel like you have just got rid of a disease, you won’t be looking for anything to take its place!
Many people find they actually lose weight when stopping with Easyway. When the body no longer has the continuous task of expelling tar and poisons, most people will experience a tremendous boost in energy levels and as a result can become more active, burning more calories each day.
Lack of nicotine does not put weight on, food does, in particular the wrong type of food.
Q. What about the terrible withdrawal pangs from nicotine?
The physical withdrawal from nicotine is so slight most smokers don’t realise they are addicts. What smokers suffer when they try to quit using other methods is the misery and depression caused by the belief that they are being deprived of a pleasure or a crutch.
The Allen Carr's Easyway method removes the need and desire to smoke. Once you are in the right frame of mind and follow the simple guidelines given during the session, the physical withdrawal from nicotine is hardly noticeable.
Q. What aids do you use?
NONE! We do not use any gimmicks, useless aids or substitutes. No nicotine gum, patches, lozenges, tabs, inhalers or nasal sprays! No needles! No lasers! No drugs! No herbs! No shock treatment!
Q. Why is the Allen Carr's Easyway method so successful?
We remove the smoker’s conflict of will (“I want to stop but I want to smoke!”) – There are no serious withdrawal pangs – It is instantaneous and easy – It is equally effective for long term heavy smokers and light smokers – You do not gain weight – You do not miss smoking.
Q. How many people are in one session?
We try and keep groups to between 10 and 20 people as we have discovered that this gives the best group dynamic.
Q. Will I have to say anything?
Not if you don’t want to! There are plenty of opportunities to ask questions throughout the session and there are frequent checkpoints to ensure that everyone understands all of the points being raised. It’s completely up to you as to how much interaction you want with the therapist and other attendees.
Q. Will I have to avoid tempting situations for a while?
No. You will be able to enjoy life as a non-smoker right from the start. You will enjoy social occasions much more and you will not miss smoking. Rather than tempting you, being around other smokers will only remind you how lucky you are to be free.
Q. I am afraid I will become one of those really annoying, preaching, anti-smoking ex-smokers. How can I prevent this?
You may notice that people stopping with the Allen Carr's Easyway method actually end up very tolerant towards other smokers socially. If you are personally happy not to be smoking, you will not have a problem with other people continuing to smoke around you. The anti-smoking behaviour you often see in people who have used willpower to stop is caused by feelings of envy and jealousy because they are not 'allowed' to smoke anymore.

I didn't want to write in before 6 months, so as not to jinx my success, but all I can say is "WOW". 6 months free and I still struggle to believe how easy it has been.
Like most people, I was very skeptical that this would work for me. Not only because I had tried and failed miserably to quit with willpower several times before, but also because I was not entirely sure I even wanted to quit. The session was actually quite pleasant. I even went to the pub that night and had a few glasses of wine. While I was a tiny bit moody for the 48 hours that the nicotine remained in my body, I never really had a craving strong enough to bother me much. Once the nicotine monster left my body I have never ooked back. I almost can't even remember how it was to be a smoker ! I have friends that smoke in front of me all the time and it never gets to me...because I am a non-smoker now, so why should it !? I had to face a family tragedy 2 months after I quit, and I still did not start up smoking again. Allen Carr's way is not only the easiest way to quit, it is the ONLY way that works in the long term. I will never smoke again. Thank you so much, the £240 investment I made for my life has been well worth it (and I have saved £1200 in last 6 months from no longer wasting it on the cigarettes).
